[PL] BIAŁORUSKIE RUSAŁKI
Czarnobyl kojarzony jest wyłącznie z Ukrainą i Rosja. Tymczasem była to prawdziwa katastrofa dla Białorusi, która nie posiadała żadnych elektrowni atomowych. Pół tysiąca wsi i osiedli zostało tam wysiedlonych. 70% radionuklidów, które przedostały się do atmosfery po wybuchu w Czarnobylu, przypadło na Białoruś. W tym rolniczo-wiejskim kraju była to największa katastrofa od czasu Wielkiej Wojny Ojczyźnianej, kiedy to naziści zniszczyli tu 620 wsi. Mężczyźni, w liczbie tysięcy, byli “zaprzężeni” do sowieckiej machiny usuwania skutków awarii. Dostawali ordery i szybko umierali jako bohaterowie, w wyniku chorób popromiennych. Kobiety - sieroty, wdowy, matki tracące synów musiały mierzyć się nie tylko z “przepędzeniem” z miejsca zamieszkania, kulturowym wykorzenieniem, ale i ze stratą bliskich…

[EN] BELARUSIAN RUSALKAS
Chernobyl is associated only with Ukraine and Russia. Meanwhile, it was a real crash for Belarus, which had no nuclear power plants. Half a thousand villages and settlements were displaced there. 70% of the radionuclides that escaped into the atmosphere after the Chernobyl explosion could be traced in Belarus. That has been the greatest catastrophe in this agricultural country since the Great National War, when the Nazis destroyed 620 villages here. Thousands of men were forced to serve the Soviet machine of recovery from the nuclear accident. They were awarded with medals and soon after died as heroes as a result of radiation sickness. Women - orphans, widows, mothers losing their sons, had to face not only the fate of being driven out of from their homeland, cultural uprooting, but also the loss of the loved ones…
