THE MORRIGAN PROPHECY

In Irish mythology there were large battles between the Fomorians and the Tuatha Dè Danaan. In the last battle of Maigh Tuireadh (Moytura), the Irish goddess known as The Morrígan (Mór Rígain) encouraged the Tuatha Dé Danann warriors to arise and to fight fiercely and fervently before the battle with Balor of the Evil Eye and the Fomorians. At the end of the battle, The Morrígan gave her prophecies of a time of peace, followed by a time of every evil and disease before the end of the world. In this she talked of parent and child going to war, conflict, deception and struggle leading to the end of time.

It is not known how many lost their lives on the Plain of Moytura. Not one family escaped their blood from dripping on this battlefield. A dark cloud hung over the Plain, with bodies being given to the earth and others given to sky burial. The Morrígan spoke her prophecy of life after oppression.
